Tania S. Khaleque
About
Dr. Tania S. Khaleque is an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics, University of Dhaka. Her research interests are geodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, asymptotic analysis, mathematical modelling, etc. She completed her D.Phil. in Applied Mathematics in the year 2015 from the University of Oxford. The PhD thesis was on strongly variable viscosity flows in mantle. Earlier she completed her B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics and M.S. in Applied Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics, University of Dhaka and joined in DU in 2010. She received Felix Scholarship from University of Oxford for her doctoral studies, and also received A.F. Mujibur Rahman Gold Medals, Dean’s Award, UGC Merit scholarship, Shamsun Nahar Gold Medal, Sumitomo Corporation Scholarship, etc. for outstanding results in B.Sc. (Hons) and M.S. results.
She was the founding member and Secretary of Oxford University Bangladesh Society (OUBS) in Oxford, UK. She is also the founding member and treasurer of the Women’s Mathematics Olympiad (WMO) Committee. She is also a member of Bangladesh Mathematical Society(BMS), Dhaka University Mathematics Alumni Association (DUMAA).
