Afsana Yeasmin Tanzina

About

Afsana Yeasmin Tanzina is from Chittagong where she completed her BSc and now doing MSc in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Chittagong. Being a student of life science, Tanzina aims to make her career in research. Her on-going thesis project is on food metagenomics which will hopefully be an inevitable approach towards quality assurance of foods at the scale of microbiota present in them. She is also engaged with several bioinformatics-based research projects, one of which on spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 is now under publication. She received in-plant training at Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and was involved in data collection and entry of a project under BRF on Chikungunya outbreak (2017) in Bangladesh. Her areas of interest are cancer biology, neuroscience, immunology and computational biology. The reason behind her engagement with CCRTB is to work for the betterment of cancer patients in Bangladesh.
